Making Moves

Happy New Year, guys!

It’s been so long since I’ve posted a blog and I have so many things to share with you. :)

A week ago, I decided to move some of my inventory by having an end-of-the-year sale. I know it’s not really ideal for an artist to mark their prices down, but my pieces are big and heavy (and to be frank, too cool) to just be sitting around in my house. Plus, my collectors love it when I do flash sales and usually are eager to grab another original for their offices and homes.

Thanks to all of you amazing humans, I sold SIX originals in one day and it was the most warm-and-fuzzy way to end 2020. I’m so grateful for your support.

So, my suggestion for artists and entrepreneurs like me is to DO YOU. I’ve had people message me during these sales and be like, “why are you selling an original for only $1500??”. And things like, “you’re thinking short term, not long term”.

But those people clearly have their way of doing things and I have mine. And you have yours. Do you.

Another thing I wanted to share with you is that I’ve written a book!

That’s right. Your girl, Lindsay, is almost a published author.

I say that with so much pride because for YEARS I’ve had the words “write a book” on my bucket list. I’ve brainstormed countless book ideas and I’ve said I wanted to write a book a million times.

So what’s the difference this time?

I actually DID IT.

That’s the only difference. I put my other work aside. I sat down at a computer and even though I felt like a total bum not working in my studio like I am so used to...I did it. Even though it took my mind on a creative rollercoaster in a totally different amusement park than I am used to...I did it anyway.

And I wrote a book.

It’s back from the editor and it’s being illustrated as we speak.

I can’t wait to share it with you.

But for now, I hope you do it. Whatever it is that you’ve been saying you want to do FOR YEARS...DO IT. Not tomorrow. Not on your lunch break. Now.

You are the only one who will make it happen.

Love you guys. xoxo
